Outdoor 'Alice' Has Its Cast

Outdoor Alice has its cast.

Director Sonda Staley has announced the names of 15 actors selected to perform the free outdoor staging of Alice: A Variation on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland by Ara Vito.

Curtain Players is co-producing Alice with the City of Westerville’s Parks and Recreation Department. Six Alice performances are scheduled for 7:30 PM Thursdays-Saturdays June 15-17 and 22-24 in Westerville’s Alum Creek North Park amphitheater.

The actors and their roles: Mackenzie Biemer (Ensemble/Flower); Taylor Leigh Davis (Doormouse/understudy Alice); Francois Dean (Hatter/Ensemble); Hannah Elhard (Caterpillar/Ensemble); Jesse Evans-Jenkins (Peacock/Ensemble); Tristan Rose Gillia (Queen); Erin Haught (Ensemble/Flower); Kate Hawthorne (Mother); Sharon Kibe (Cat/Dance Captian); Sydney LaLuzerne (Ensemble/Flower); Clara Livingston (Alice); Alexis Messina (Twin/Ensemble); Perry Lee Meyer (Dad/Hare); Hanna Osterwyk (Time/Ensemble); and Travis Daniel Williams (Lewis Carroll).

Rehearsals for Alice began this week.

Staley leads the production team, assisted Johanna Breiding, who also serves as set designer. Michael Day is stage manager. Keely Kurtas-Chapman and Doug Browell are Alice producers. Jill Taylor serves as artistic advisor for the production.

Open auditions for Alice were conducted Sunday March 26.

Alice: A Variation on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland is a new take on Carroll's classic tales crafting a story of a young girl named Alice Pleasance Liddell and the relationship she develops with Charles Dodgson (alias Lewis Carroll). Overcoming her parents' stifling indifference, Alice discovers her creativity through adventures on the other side of the looking glass, conquering her fears as she approaches a vision of her true self.
