Curtain Players has announced a script review sessions and auditions schedule for the 2017-18 season, number 55 for the community theatre company.

Technical Director Booth Muller confirmed the dates. Curtain Players is presenting six productions as part of its new season, beginning with the first fully staged production of an unpublished script, Wendy Darling by Ira Hauptman, in September.

SCRIPT REVIEW SESSIONS  Script reviews unless otherwise indicated are scheduled for 6:30 PM at the playhouse, 5691 Harlem Road (Galena OH 43021).

Wendy Darling… Thursday June 8

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?… Wednesday July 5

Crimes of the Heart… Sunday August 27

Lettice and Lovage… Thursday November 9

The Trip to Bountiful… Thursday January 4

Exit the King… Monday January 29 (at Westerville Public Library)

Curtain Players offers a script review session for each of its productions. The event is an opportunity for actors to become acquainted with the community theatre organization, to review the script, to discuss the play with the director (who will be present), and to ask questions about the audition process, rehearsal period, and production plans. Those interested in working behind the scenes are also invited to attend to learn more about the project.

AUDITIONS  Curtain Players conducts one evening of auditions for each of its productions. All auditions are conducted at the Harlem Road playhouse. Registration begins at 6:30 PM with actual auditions to begin promptly at 7 o’clock.

Wendy Darling… Sunday June 18

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?… Sunday July 9

Crimes of the Heart… Sunday September 10

Lettice and Lovage… Sunday November 19

The Trip to Bountiful… Sunday January 14

Exit the King… Sunday February 11

Curtain Players conducts open auditions. Roles are not cast in advance. Casting decisions are made by the director and a casting committee. The committee includes a member of the theatre board, a general member of the organization, and individual(s) of the director’s choosing.

Actors are encouraged to come to auditions familiar with the script and ready to read from the script. Every effort will be made to give all actors equal chances to read, at least twice. Resumes and head shots are helpful. Directors may specify audition activities particular to their individual productions.

In the event that someone wishing to audition is not available to attend on the appointed date, an early audition may be requested of the director. Early auditions are granted solely at the director’s discretion. The request for an early audition must be made no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled audition date.
