Campaign Finishes at 81 Percent of Goal

The Curtain Players Legacy & Renew campaign closed June 30, reaching 81 percent of its $20,000 goal.

A total of $16,172 was collected.

The community theatre company launched Legacy & Renew in September 2015 after operating several years without any organized fundraising campaign. Ten percent of all campaign gifts were deposited in the Curtain Players endowment fund, to preserve and support the organization as it continues and strengthens its legacy. The remainder of the monies is to help renew Curtain Players, specifically to maintain and to improve the Harlem Road playhouse for the company’s continued stage presentations, as well as to finance new initiatives designed to broaden the organization’s programs. The Curtain Players Board of Directors this season is exploring the best use of those funds for maximum long-term benefit.

The board originally planned to close the Legacy & Renew campaign on December 31, 2016. Because of the drive’s early success, the board extended the campaign to the close of the 2016-2017 season.

The campaign is evolving  into a sustained annual giving program, the objective being continued yearly giving to the theatre among volunteers and patrons. Contributions – fully tax deductible – may be mailed to Curtain Players at PO Box 1143, Westerville, Ohio 43086. Curtain Players is recognizing donors giving gifts of $20 and more in its production programs and on lobby sign boards.
