Curtain Players will open its 2017-18 season – its 55th – on Friday September 8 with Wendy Darling.
The Ira Hauptman script is receiving its first-ever fully staged production at the 5691 Harlem Road playhouse 8 PM Fridays and Saturdays September 8-9, 15-16 and 22-23, and 2 PM Sundays September 17 and 24. Click here to order tickets.
In Hauptman’s darkly comic version of the Peter Pan story, Wendy’s mother sets in motion a journey that threatens to change her family forever. This is not a children’s production, the play is written for appreciation by audiences ages 13 and older.
Hauptman will travel to Westerville/Galena from his New York home for performances September 16 and 17. Curtain Players will honor Hauptman at a 6 PM playhouse reception on Saturday September 16, and he will give a pre-performance talk. He will attend the Sunday September 17 matinee and stay for the Curtain Panels audience talk back.
