BroadwayWorld has opened nominations for its annual BroadwayWorld Columbus Awards, a readers’ choice recognition program that highlights favorite theatre achievements among central Ohio theatres in the last year.

Readers must visit the Columbus broadwayworld.com theatre news site – click here — to submit nominations. BroadwayWorld’s Columbus editors established this year’s award categories to cover areas of performance, direction, technical/design achievement, as well as theatre of the year.

Nominations are open through October 31. Readers can submit more than one nomination per category.

To be eligible, productions must have opened their runs between October 1 2016 and September 30 2017. That includes the following Curtain Players productions: The Diary of Anne Frank; Anne of Green Gables; Five Women Wearing the Same Dress; Rabbit Hole; Trevor; Alice: A Variation on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland; and Wendy Darling.

After the nomination period ends October 31, BroadwayWorld’s Columbus editors proof the list for eligibility and errors. Reader voting is to begin in early November, continuing through December 31, with winners announced in January.

Curtain Players in 2016 received 26 nominations for its productions, although the company did not receive enough votes in any category to win.
