Curtain Players participated, for the first time, in The Columbus Foundation’s The Big Give campaign on October 10-11. According to preliminary accounting, the community theatre company will receive $1,189.50 from 21 donors, including a share of $1.4 million in bonus pool funds. Also, the Foundation waived credit card fees so 100 percent of gifts went directly to organizations.
These contributions help Curtain Players – a local volunteer arts organization for 55 years – promote the educational, cultural, and entertainment value of live theatre through affordable and accessible theatre-oriented activities and stage productions.
According to The Columbus Foundation website, the 26-hour event raised $18 million benefitting 906 participating central Ohio non-profit organizations. The Foundation recorded 30,279 donors from seven countries, 49 states, and 1,017 cities.
