Nine Curtain Players recently shared their time and talents for a day of set painting, among design and technical preparations for the community theatre’s upcoming production of The Trip to Bountiful.
The volunteers participated in the Bountiful work day Saturday March 10.
The painting team includes Jeff Cramlet, Denise Dumouchelle, Carolyn Jakubczak, Jeanine Joseph, Sarah Joseph, Randy Lenhart, John Maassel, and Alice Young. The Trip to Bountiful set designer Booth Muller leads the effort.
Stephen Elliot Moore joined Dumouchelle and Cramlet to hang lights on Sunday March 11.
James F. Petsche directs the Horton Foote play, opening its run Friday March 23 at the 5691 Harlem Road playhouse.
Curtain Players presents The Trip to Bountiful at 8 PM March 23-24, 30-31, and April 6-7, with 2 o’clock matinees Sundays March 25 and April 8. There is no performance on Easter Sunday, April 1. Tickets are on sale now. Click here to order.
Set in post-World War II southeast Texas, Horton Foote’s play tells of Carrie Watts, an aging widow who runs away from her son Ludie and daughter-in-law Jessie Mae and their cramped Houston apartment to realize her dearest dream: to return to her beloved hometown, Bountiful. What starts as an ordinary trip soon becomes an inspiring and life-changing journey of discovery.
