Giveback Programs Benefit Players

Curtain Players are reminded this busy food and gift-buying season (Mother's Day, graduations, weddings, Memorial Day celebrations) that Kroger and Amazon each have community giveback programs that benefit the community theatre company. Shoppers – once they complete or renew simple registrations – can support Curtain Players simply by shopping with the grocer and/or online retailer.

Curtain Players for many years has been a participant in the Kroger Community Rewards Program, the grocer’s initiative to benefit organizations in the areas where the retailer does business.

Curtain Players has been a beneficiary of this effort since its launch. The program is simple in its design: Any time a shopper uses the Kroger Plus Card, a percentage of the money spent earns rewards for Curtain Players. These rewards come back to the theater in the form of quarterly checks from Kroger, money that is applied to production expenses, theatre upkeep, and other general operations costs.

Shoppers are reminded they must designate Curtain Players with Kroger for the program to benefit the community theatre, and they may need to re-enroll for the current program year.

Curtain Players can benefit their community theatre home by shopping Amazon, too.

Curtain Players is participating in Amazon Smile’s donation program. The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5 percent of the sales price from shoppers’ eligible AmazonSmile purchases.

Shoppers may learn details about the program and register at the AmazonSmile website. Upon first visit to the retail site, shoppers need to select Curtain Players as the charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases. Shopping offers the same selection and convenience as shopping with the added bonus that Amazon will make a donation to a designated organization.
