Curtain Players Season 56 continues with open auditions for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the novel by Mark Haddon, adapted by Simon Stephens .

Auditions are set for Sunday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. (registration at 6:30 p.m., tryout at 7 p.m.) at our playhouse, located at 5691 Harlem Road (Galena OH 43021).

In this Tony and Olivier Award-winner for Best Play, someone has killed the next door neighbor's dog and, due to his awkward interactions with the police, 15-year-old Christopher is a suspect. Despite his father's warnings to stay away, Christopher launches an investigation and documents his findings in a book he only shows to his favorite teacher. Along the way he finds that people are more confusing than math. Each secret he uncovers in his working class neighborhood takes him farther outside his comfort zone, and finally on a scary journey that will change his life. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time previews Thursday, Feb. 7, and performances run Feb. 8-24.

Casey Merkey direct. Casey has been involved with Curtain Players since 2011, and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. He has been involved with numerous productions in Central Ohio, both on stage and off, with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time marking his directorial debut. His goal in directing this production is to showcase the richly faceted, flawed-yet-wonderful characters that the playwright has developed in this script.
