AUDITIONS for 'Epic Proportions' – Feb. 10

Posted: Sunday, January 20, 2019, 8:44am

Our final show of season 56, Epic Proportions by Larry Coen and David Crane, will hold auditions on Sunday, February 10.

Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. at the theater, and auditions begin at 7 p.m.

Set in the 1930s, this comedy tells the story of two brothers who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Hollywood Biblical epic "Exeunt Omnes". Before you know it, Phil is directing the movie, and Benny is starring in it. To complicate matters further they both fall in love with the same woman, not to mention the gladiator battles, the Ten Plagues and a cast of thousands.

We are casting eight actors for this show, with four of the actors slated to play multiple roles (remember that 'cast of thousands'?).

Visit the Epic Proportions Audition Page for full details, character breakdowns, and more.

You can also join us for a Meet the Director / Script Review at the Westerville Public Library on Monday, Jan. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Director Jeremy Sony and Stage Manager Sara Weaver will be on-hand to answer questions, talk about the script, and what to expect at auditions.

Sony has worked on close to 20 productions and projects at Curtain Players in various capacities as an actor, director, writer, and designer; this will be his third main stage directing assignment following AACTFest and OCTA award-winning productions of Darkside and The Guys. He has also directed at Emerald City Players and Theatre Daedalus. Sony is a Curtain Players past president and currently serves as a Trustee on the CP Board.
