William Finn and James Lapine's groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical revolves around Marvin, who seems to have a perfect life with his wife Trina and their about-to-be-Bar-Mitzvahed son. When Marvin falls in love with a man and leaves his wife, the resulting fallout presents a hilarious and achingly poignant look at the infinite possibilities that make up a modern family. A beautiful reminder that love can tell a million stories.
Curtain Players schedules talkbacks for select productions — usually following the first Sunday matinee — the director, actors, and available designers and technicians gather on stage for a question-and-answer session with the audience. This is an opportunity for an informal conversation about such topics as a play’s subject matter, the challenge of staging the production, a director’s choices and vision, technical and behind-the-scenes design work, and how actors prepare for their roles.
